The Post-Event Email That Generates Reviews and Referrals

The 48 hours after a wedding is the highest-value window in your entire post-event process. The couple is euphoric. The experience is fresh. The gratitude is real. And they haven't yet been absorbed back into normal life.

That window closes fast. A well-timed, warm message sent in that window generates more reviews and referrals than any other outreach you could do.

The Sequence

Message 1 — 24 to 48 hours post-event (Email or Text)

"[Name], watching your celebration come together was genuinely one of our favorite days of the season. Thank you for trusting us with something so important.

If you have two minutes in the next few days, a Google review would mean the world to us — it helps couples who are still searching find a venue they can trust. Here's the direct link: [link]

We'd also love it if you ever mentioned us to friends who are engaged or planning an event. Your referral is the highest compliment we receive.

Congratulations from our whole team."

This message does two things simultaneously: requests the review and plants the referral seed. Both are natural and low-pressure in the context of genuine post-event warmth.

Message 2 — 10 to 12 days post-event (Text)

"Hi [Name] — hope you're having a wonderful honeymoon (or getting settled back in!). If you have a spare moment for that Google review, here's the link: [link]. Congratulations again!"

Message 3 — 30 days post-event (Email, Optional)

"Congratulations on one month of married life! If you've had a chance to reflect on your day, we'd love to hear your thoughts in a Google review: [link]. And if you have any friends in the planning stages, we'd love to meet them."

Three touches. Warm throughout. Specific asks at each stage.
